X-Shot Pro Longshot

X-Shot Pro Longshot Plunger Tube Service Planning

A planning guide for deciding when the Longshot needs plunger tube service, reinforcement, or a full air-system inspection.

Procedure Notes

This guide is worth separating out because it turns a common Longshot maintenance conversation into a repeatable service path.

Tools Needed

  • Chronograph
  • Hex drivers
  • Silicone-safe lubricant
  • Spare o-rings or service parts

Steps

  1. Record current performance and note whether the issue is consistency, power loss, or obvious mechanical drag.
  2. Open the air system carefully and inspect the plunger tube, seal stack, and catch surfaces together.
  3. Decide whether the repair is a seal service, a reinforcement upgrade, or a broader rebuild.
  4. Reassemble with a controlled test plan instead of assuming the replacement alone solved the issue.

Troubleshooting Notes

  • If FPS is still inconsistent after a tube swap, inspect seals and magazine presentation before blaming the new part.
  • Deformation, drag, and poor lubrication can all present as the same “it feels weak now” complaint.
